Michael Chavez Booth or “MCB” – as friends and colleagues have come to call him – is a 15-year communications veteran with extensive experience advising brands and personalities across entertainment, sport, lifestyle and culture. He is POV Agency’s founding partner and its head of sport & entertainment.

MCB recently returned to POV after serving two years as general manager at The Story Mob, a communications consultancy at the intersection of gaming and culture. Before that, he was VP at M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment, where he managed several blue-chip clients, supported new business efforts, grew the LA team, and helped boost diversity and inclusion efforts.

From 2014-17, MCB worked at the National Basketball Association (NBA), dishing out PR assists for more than 35 marketing and promotional partners. He also oversaw corporate communications efforts, advised league leadership on speaking opportunities, awards and contributed content.

MCB began his career with the LA (then San Diego) Chargers before joining global agencies Edelman and FleishmanHillard.

He earned an M.A. in strategic public relations from the University of Southern California and a B.A. in business administration from the University of San Diego. Education is a passion for MCB and when he’s not advising clients, he’s teaching undergrad and graduate students as an adjunct professor.

MCB also carves out a little time to advise startups focused on tech, representation within gaming and sports in the metaverse. And, during the NFL season, you can find him in the Chargers press box delivering play-by-play to local and visiting media.
